Lead Senior Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL

Qualis Corporation is seeking a Lead Senior Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Engineer with extensive knowledge of PNT and strong communication skills to join our team of well qualified, diverse individuals at our Huntsville, AL office.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a team of highly skilled engineers
  • Develop and apply advanced hardware design methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems.
  • Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and electronics technicians in the performance of assigned projects.
  • Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
  • Assess the technical readiness levels of Alternate PNT (ALT PNT) and provide technical recommendations.
  • Define technical analysis methods, conduct independent research, and present findings.
  • Develop and present technical white papers and executive level briefings.
  • Develop and integrate an ALT PNT integration and test lab to validate test processes and procedures and results from developmental tests performed within the lab.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop ALT PNT roadmaps, identify required functions of ALT PNT products and consult within and outside the DoD PNT community regarding architecture requirements.
  • Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in technical field with 15+ years of experience with developing, testing, and analyzing the performance of PNT systems.
  • Experience with DoD PNT capabilities
  • Knowledge of OSD and Joint Staff policy related to PNT
  • Experience with designing and conducting experiments using radio frequency devices and instrumentation
  • Ability to work with a dynamic, skilled team on high–impact, high–visibility projects
  • Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in EE, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
  • Experience with digital signal processing systems and radio frequency systems
  • Experience with building software interfaces to hardware
  • Knowledge of Kalman filtering or other optimization methods
  • Knowledge of software defined radio platforms and design flow
  • Possess excellent time–management skills to contribute to multiple tasks concurrently
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess excellent presentation skills
